Tea in the afternoon.

The weekend just gone was the last weekend at my beautiful home 'Nesta'. Nesta has sheltered me for the last two and a half years and like any good relationship we have had our ups and downs but I am very sad to say goodbye. Whilst a mixture of excitement and sadness is being felt, as they say, when one door closes another one opens and I move into my new abode this coming weekend.
The AMAZING brownies made by the beautiful Sarah.
Photos by me.
To say goodbye, I had some girlfriends over for an afternoon of muffins, caramelised onion and feta tarts, homemade sausage rolls, chicken sandwiches, brownies and honey joys. And yes... We may have drunk champagne and Pimms out of vintage teacups adopted from my grandmother.

VennDiagrams

How cute are these! Whilst hunting around in that vast unknown of the web I came across these prints. A little London based, family run print studio, they create specialised, personalised and affordable prints ideal for the home.

TheSnailandtheTeacup

The other day I came across this fabulous blog The Snail and the Teacup. Independent project of freelance illustrator and graphic designer Mia Brown, she sketches and illustrates the cutest of designs for various youth fashion labels, apparel, prints, layout design for story boards and look books.
Her self initiated projects are featured on her blog and are well worth the time to have a flick through.

I am currently in LOVE with the bicycle as well as the little child eating the sandwich and would love to commission her to create a print for my bedroom wall to go along side the prints I currently have here.
During the festive season Mia also created christmas cards which could be ordered and used commercially or just for the individual who wanted to send something that had more of a personal touch.
If you are interested in any of her works you can contact her via the email address which is on her blog page.

MisterZimi

I received an email the other day regarding a pop up sale for one of my favourite Melbourne labels and it was announced that they were teaming up with a label I had never heard of. I have done some research on them and the result?? Its LOVE! Their name: Mister Zimi.
To me it is everything a label should be and everything I love and adore.
Brain child of Zoe Paul, Mister Zimi combines a wonderful mix of Australian design with Balinese tailoring. Each piece encapsulates that free and easy feeling, is able to be dressed up or dressed down and has an effortless to wear feel.
Bringing that personal feel back to online shopping, you can choose your colours and fabrics and because all the clothing is made to order, any specific requirements you might have are welcome and catered for.
With so much choice, the problem is now trying to choose which pieces you want without going too crazy and breaking the bank account!

Confetti!

Images from: Confetti System
I found this amazing company and website born to the creative duo Nicholas Anderson and Julie Ho. Confetti System transforms simple materials such as tissue paper, cardboard and silk into interactive objects that create a point of focus. They create installations and sets for the fashion and music industry.

You can go online to this amazing company's website: http://www.confettisystem.com and buy their beautiful garlands (which I desperately want to decorate my house) or their pinatas for that special occasion.

ChristmasTime

It has been several weeks since I last blogged and Christmas and New Years has been and gone. I hope you all had a wonderful time with your families and loved ones and it brought you a lot of joy and happiness.
We now welcome 2011 and look forward to all it has to bring. I thought I would share some pictures with you from Christmas and how my family and I celebrated it.
Rather than having a conventional christmas tree my beautiful sister, who is also incredibly creative, each year loves to interpret and make her own. This year she put together clear bags with water and rosemary in them, tied up them up with red velvet ribbon, and hung them from our roof. She also hung clear glass candle holders in and amongst the rosemary. Underneath sits all the beautifully wrapped presents.
I hope everyone has a wonderful new year and all your new ventures, resolutions and ideas come to fruition. Wherever you are in the world, whatever you inspire to be, always remember to do what you love and do it well.

Love to all!
