Charlie Middleton

Ben Thompson creator of Charlie Middleton at his stall in Paddington Markets.
My purchases!
Clutches. The smaller ones I use as wallets, clutches and bags.
Each bag/clutch comes with either a long chain or leather strap which is detachable.
When in Sydney over a year ago on the advice of a friend, I hunted down the wonderful world of leather that is created by Ben Thompson in his label Charlie Middleton. I bought the pouch identical to the small brown one in the photo and it has become a very well used item in my everyday life. From being a purse in my bag, to a clutch on a night out and an across the body bag at festivals.

The quality of leather and the array of colours the bags are produced in is beautiful. And whilst this is very important, one of the things that makes his bags so delectable, is the fabulous fabrics Ben uses to line them. Its the small details that count!

You can find Ben and his stall each Saturday at the Paddington Markets in Sydney, and I urge you, if you ever get the chance you must check it out!

Knot it!

I truly am a no fuss girl. Hair, makeup.... If it takes too much time or effort you can guarantee its not for me. The only thing I take time and pride in is my clothes and choice of outfit.

As you will notice with most of my posts, my hair is either down and out, with absolutely nothing done to style it or look as though some kind of effort has occurred, or up in a bun. My hairdresser Matt now knows quite well that he's cutting for a girl who showers, washes her hair, dries it with a towel and runs out the door again!

The quintessential messy bun is actually my saviour. Dirty or clean (works better with dirty!) it gives you that perfectly tousled bed hair look which is universally accepted as being acceptable in public.

Hallway

In my tiny little house, in my tiny little hall.... I love the light that comes through my tiny little entrance hall... even in the winter when it can seemingly feel as though there is none.

Let there be light!

As a blogger who enjoys taking photos, I know how essential it is to have the right lighting particularly as I am still having to use a basic digital camera and not a proper SLR!

The online store buyster.com.au is the one stop shop for all your lighting needs. I was amazed at how extensive the range and variety on offer was. Everything from out door lighting to bedside lamps!

Not only do the team at buyster have an extensive range of lighting but they are your one stop shop for everything home or office with furniture for your bedroom and study, to kitchenware and rugs, and here's the best part.... It's SUPER affordable! With the EOFY (end of financial year) now on our door steps, it's time to pick up some absolute bargains.

Below are my TOP FIVE lighting faves:
Was $99.95 NOW $19.95
Was $165 NOW $99.95
NOW $95
NOW $95
Was $255 NOW $235

Sun through the gloom.

I was recently back in my home town of Perth. According to all news reports Perth is currently experiencing its coldest winter on record, but for the time I was there I really struggled to come to terms with this idea. Yes it was cold early in the morning and at night but surely you expect that in winter, no?!? And amongst all the moaning I couldn't help but marvel at the beautiful sunny days they were experiencing in the middle.

I love our back garden and mum and dad have certainly put in the hours to make it what it is. With the sun shining in the afternoon I couldn't resist taking some photos. The thing I love the most about our garden is that mum has tried to make it what she describes as an 'edible garden'. All the trees produce some kind of fruit, the rocket and lettuce grows prolifically in the tiered beds and there are pots with more herbs and chilli's than you can poke a stick at!

Its exactly how I want my garden to be one day.

COS I can...

(All clothing and shoes COS)
Unfortunately in Aus we don't have the pleasure of being able to purchase the label COS for two reasons: a) there are no flagship stores or stores here that stock the label and b) because you can't purchase the label online.

So, in my recent trip to the UK I may have gone a little COS crazy and picked up a few items at the Oxford Circus store (much to my bf's dismay!). I love their simplicity and clean lines, with oversize T's and shirts, beautifully soft basic knits and classic cuts with a modern twist.

My favourite COS piece... My black canvas wedges... Lush! Bring on Summer!
