ArmCandy... ArmParty!!!
I can't explain the love I feel for the following wrists. These lustable arm parties are those of a designer, a publicist, a couple of famous magazine editors and an accessories director. I pose the question... Can you ever really truly have enough on your wrist?? According to these guys the answer is... NO!

ThisLittlePiggyWentToMarket...
Photos by my iPhone
Spent my Saturday morning heading to the gym, cleaning the house and finally making it to the Prahan Market to do a bit of wondering, food shopping and flower collecting. It was such a beautiful day that I felt a few photos were necessary to share my happiness of being around amazing food, amazing coffee and beautiful flowers. Made my morning.

ArabellaRamsay: StyleInspiration
The Style Glossy: Dressing Room
Arabella Ramsay: Style Inspiration
By Felicity Loughrey for The Style Glossy
“It’s been a big year,” says Melbourne-based fashion designer Arabella Ramsay. “I got married on New Year’s Eve out at the farm [her parent’s homestead near Mount Macedon in Kyneton, Victoria]. Then, we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. I’m now having a baby. It’s just been one thing after the next.”And then there’s her eponymous fashion line. Since launching in 2003, Ramsay has garnered a cult following for her Australian sensibility. Each season, Ramsay creates an exclusive seasonal print. This summer’s Alice collection features feral animal illustrations (think naive sketches of sparrows, mice and cane toads) by her artist dad, Dougal Ramsay, printed on scoop-neck T-shirts and form-fitting dresses, as well as three-quarter-length skirts and mini dresses emblazoned with vibrant Kangaroo Paw prints.
The Alice collection was prompted by a trip to the Kimberley region in Western Australia. “We went up there for three weeks. I get inspired by the places I go to, especially in Australia. It blows you away up there -- the colours and everything. You don’t see anyone for days, and you’re on a boat and all you see are these beautiful rocks.”
Next summer’s collection, called Sunnyland (in stores at the end of July), was sparked by her honeymoon to Hawaii and Palm Springs, Calif. She promises a look inspired by “the desert, burnt orange, sandy colours and minimalism.”
She is also set to open a new Melbourne boutique on Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, which completes a trio of stores in High Street, Armadale and Flinders Lane in the city. “I would like to open a store overseas,” Ramsay has previously said. “I’d love to do something in Paris. I always thought it would be good to do an Australian thing over there.” (Ramsay lived in Paris for two years in her 20s. Her stores, with their wooden floors and black-lacquered lamps, have a defined French accent.)
In addition to selling her own line in her Melbourne boutiques, Ramsay also sources vintage fashion and fabrics from all over country Victoria and beyond. Once a year, she travels to the What Goes Around Comes Around warehouse in the wilds of New Jersey, USA, to specially select items. “I spend the day rummaging,” she says. On her last trip, she stockpiled frayed American quilts to cut up and make into new pieces.
Ramsay recently scored a U.S. agent, and her designs are now sold in two New York shopfronts, two Los Angeles stores and three U.S.-based online outlets.
As for the girl who wears Arabella Ramsay, the designer imagines her customer on both sides of the Pacific as someone equally at-home in the city or the country. “I like girls who are a bit dorky, who are willing to take a risk,” she told Frankie magazine. “I love the idea of people wearing this to festivals and taking the clothing into other areas. Wear them with your gumboots!”
Felicity Loughrey is the managing editor of The Style Glossy. She writes for Vogue Australia, Vogue Living and GQ, among others.

Mums Homemade Rolled Oat Biscuits
Now I know we all say our mums are the BEST cooks. And each of us who say this truly believe THEIR mum to be the best. However, anyone who has eaten my mother's food or had my mother cook for them seem to be testimonial enough for me that mum is a pretty damn fine chef.
As a child we weren't like a lot of the other children who got packets of chips or muesli bars or roll ups in their lunch boxes. Instead, most Sundays mum would make a slice or biscuit or some other yummy treat and then wrap us up a portion and instead that would be our recess.
These Rolled Oat Biscuits are just one example of those treats. Today is my first officially day of holidays and I thought I would spend part of that day baking. These biscuits are so easy to make and great with a cup of tea in the arvo.
According to mum's recipe, you will need:
- 2 cups of rolled oats
- 1 cup of plain flour
- 1 cup of coconut
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 175g of melted butter.
- sultanas
- honey/golden syrup
You may also add to the mix (which is what I added to this batch):
- sunflower seeds
- pumpkin seeds
- choc chips
- any dried fruit in the pantry
- goji berries
To make:
- Simply put all your dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
- Melt your butter and add a couple of teaspoons of honey or golden syrup into it. Mix together.
- Pour butter mix over dry ingredients and combine.
- Line a baking tray with grease proof paper and place mixture in tray.
- With a fork, press down into the tray.
- Place in the oven at about 170 degrees celsius for around 25 to 30 min. This will depend on your oven, just keep checking after 25.
- When golden, remove from over and allow to stiffen and cool. If you remove too early they will fall apart! So just press on them with your finger to check.
Then, remove from tray and baking paper, cut up into rows and then squares. Serve for afternoon tea (or morning tea!) with a lovely fresh, hot cuppa!

Enjoy!!

Desmond
Photos from Desmond Online
If you haven't heard of the label Desmond, you are truly missing out on something amazing and unique. Inspired by leather and a penchant for design, Leah Hills' first collection for Desmond was launched in early 2009. Named after her late grandfather, Leah set out to create a label that made timeless pieces allowing the wearer to create their own story with each piece that is worn.Desmond offers pieces that are feminine, yet edgy, but that are also staples for every girls wardrobe. From ankle boots, clogs and brogues to supple leather jackets, tops and bags, no major trend has been missed and you can be sure that they have put their unique twist and stamp on it.
The photos featured are some of my personal favourites and are just a taste of whats on offer from the beautiful Autumn/Winter '11 collection.
Desmond caters for the made to measure and order customer and is also stocked in select boutiques around Australia.
Check them out online here or become FB friends with Desmond here and snap up your own little piece of of the story.
