MrThrogmorton

Last night I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the jewellery label 'Mr Throgmorton', the creative brain child of Alexandra Cerny. Using the lost practice of wax casting, each piece is individually made and then cast in silver. No piece is the same. Once cast, the wax can no longer be used again. Each piece is as unique as the next. They are delicate organic creations which, form small offsets to the body or can be worn as bold statement pieces.
The rings come in several sizes and shapes ranging from small to large.
Alex - The designer.
The beautiful Alice modelling some of the jewellery.

Mr Throgmorton will be stocked at the Life with Bird store in the Melbourne GPO and Brunswick Street. If you have any queries, you can contact Alex through her blog: 'Mr Throgmorton'.

It's raining, its pouring, the old man is snoring...

After a beautiful warm week in Melbourne, the dumpage of rain that was predicted for this weekend began to fall. And when I say rain... I mean rain!
Being such a warm day Friday, that night started as a lovely balmy evening. However, the evening quickly turned humid and not long after, the heavens opened to drop enough rain to give Melbourne it's average monthly rain fall in the space of an evening. Since then... it hasn't stopped.
I got up Saturday morning with mixed feelings about what the weather had brought. Yes, we NEED the rain, and having been affected by drought for the last 5 years, Melbournians are finally looking forward to green gardens this summer. And yes, a rainy Saturday means you have the perfect excuse to potter around the house, doing not much at all and at no point do you feel guilty about this when you stop and hear the rain still pouring on your tin roof.
Unfortunately, it does mean however, that at the end of this weekend I know I will feel as though I haven't achieved anything or made the most of the time I have off before having to go back to work on Monday.
In the busy lives we lead maybe, when these random and freak weekends come along and you are forced to remain inside, its natures way of telling us we need to slow down, enjoy the down time off doing nothing and be happy with the rest our bodies are receiving.
And so, in saying this... Let it rain!

Please Santa! May I have...

Images: thoutnet.com
I absolutely adore this Rick Owens leather jacket that I found on sale (yes ON SALE!) at Net-a-Porter's sister site The Outnet. I love everything about it. From the big structured shoulders to the tailored fit, the stretch material inner arm and the folder over front. It's leather, it's tailored and it's beautiful.
Unfortunately, even though its on sale it is still sits well out of my price range. I am hoping I am on Santa's 'Good List' and somehow this beautiful creation will magically appear in my christmas stocking... I can dream... :o)
